Mariya and Yulia grew up in Odessa, Ukraine, a coastal metropolis on the edge of the Black Sea. While Mariya eventually moved to North America, where she studied Finance and Management at the University of Pennsylvania, Yulia pursued a degree in design at the Odessa University of Fashion Design.
Two decades and over 5,800 miles separated the two sisters as they sought their individual goals, but there was an incredible connection and underlying force that ran like an invisible current between them: a love for style, an appreciation for fashion history, and a desire to introduce the world to a fusion of a California and an Easter European aesthetic.

And then, like the forces of physics beyond their control, Mariya and Yulia’s little universes an ocean apart coalesced, creating out of nothing the concept that is so special to both of them. Lovely Gravity was born in 2019. Inspired by physics that govern our world and their pull toward one another, Lovely Gravity is a brand that focuses on both structure and romance of women’s clothing with influences from two distinct cultures. Just like the study of physics, where the process of discovery is driven by known rules and a child-like curiosity for something not yet discovered, Lovely Gravity is a paradigm shift of seemingly incongruous ideas between two completely different worlds into something harmonious, beautiful, and unique.
